What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a program developed to offer a full-body workout that combines elements of cardio, weightlifting, gymnastics, core training and more. The workouts are based on constantly varied functional movements at different intensity levels. CrossFit focuses on movements that best mimic everyday happenings such as sitting down (squatting), walking up stairs (step ups), lifting groceries (deadlift) and putting a heavy bottle of water on the top shelve (presses).
Because of the varied movements CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health, to weight loss, to better performance overall. Workouts are different every day and modified for people of any age and level of fitness, and will move you towards achieving your personal goal.
Is CrossFit for me?
Yes. Everyone can do CrossFit regardless of age, injuries and current fitness levels. The training program is adjusted for each individual to help safely become healthier and fitter. The same general workout can be modified from teenagers to grandparents to high level athletes in different kinds of sport.
Do I need to be in shape before doing CrossFit?
No. CrossFit is a training program that will get you in shape by being consistent and dedicated. It doesn’t matter what your current fitness level is. The coaches will make sure that the workout of the day is modified to your capability. Every workout is designed to help you succeed, improve fitness and move you towards achieving your goals.
